Our Skin Care Advice For Your Pet!

Skin infections in pets can be quite similar to those in humans. Cats & Dogs are more prone to infections related to skin, and you shouldn’t leave your pet undiagnosed.

Even moderate allergies or infections tend to grow execrable from prolonged exposure that can cause skin inflammation and irritation!

Diagnosing the allergies as soon as possible is very crucial to cure the specific infection likewise it can worsen over time, untreated allergies will be obnoxious for the patient to tackle with it.

Most dogs and cats will, unavoidably, develop skin problems at some point in their lives.

Certainly, throughout most cases, the primary issue is negligible, and the illness is easily treated.

But even so, some conditions do entail the care and prognosis of a veterinarian who specialises in veterinary dermatology for cats and dogs.

Causes of Skin Infections

  • Food Allergies– Itchy skin or digestive problems like vomiting or diarrhoea are common symptoms of food allergies. Hyperactivity, weight loss, lack of energy, and even hostility are some of the more subtle changes that might occur.
  • Flea Allergies- Dermatitis herpetiformis allergy is a skin reaction caused by a flea bite. FAD can affect both dogs and cats. Certain proteins in the flea’s saliva, which the flea injects into the pet’s skin during biting and feeding, can cause severe allergic reactions in affected pets
  • Folliculitis- It appears to occur in dogs when one or more hair follicles become damaged or irritated. In most cases, it is caused by an infection. Folliculitis is most commonly caused by a Staphylococcus bacteria infection, but it can also be caused by other types of bacteria.
  • Yeast Infection-Yeast infections can appear anywhere on the skin of a dog. The affected skin may appear red, irritated, itchy, greasy, or flaky, and hair loss may occur.
  • Dandruff – Dandruff appears in dogs, just as it does in humans, when flakes of dead skin cells begin to fall out of place and hang out on the hair and wherever they land.
  • Mange- Mange is a skin condition in dogs caused by a variety of mite species. The mites irritate the skin, causing itching, hair loss, and inflammation. The majority of mange types are highly contagious. Both dogs and cats are vulnerable.

Symptoms of Dermatitis or Allergies in Dogs & Cats
