Bravo is a 2-year-old German Shepherd with complete loss of vision in both eyes. A thorough eye examination by our ophthalmologists revealed that he had cataracts resulting in blindness. We performed cataract surgery on each eye separately about 3 weeks apart with astounding success. After the first surgery, his vision was back immediately in the operated eye and soon, the second procedure was equally successful. His parents were wonderfully diligent in their post-operative care and follow up visits and are overjoyed at being able to play fetch with him again!

SUCCESS STORIES
Snow, a tom cat was brought into our night emergency nearly 2 years ago, with severe difficulty in breathing. He was stabilised with oxygen therapy after which we were able to conduct a thorough cardiac examination to diagnose the cause of the problem. Our cardiologists found that snow was suffering from a hypertrophic cardiomyopathy which resulted in a life threatening condition of the heart valve known as systolic anterior motion (SAM). The faulty valve functioning leads to many further complications one of which is respiration distress. Treatment was started immediately and we are happy to report that he is doing well on medication and is about to celebrate his 4th birthday soon.
Rio is a 4year old beagle who came to us all the way from Gujrat. He was suffering from acute renal failure with a very high serum creatinine value. He stayed at our hospital for nearly a week during which he underwent several sessions of dialysis to control the renal failure and to treat the concurrent infection that caused the kidneys to fail in the first place. His parents were relieved to take home a healthy and happy boy at the end of his treatment, and still keep in touch with us to give us updates on his progress.

The ability to move around freely is paramount for all animals but it is especially important for a cat, since they are instinctually inclined to climb and jump. Nopo, a 2-year-old tom cat was rushed to us after falling from a height. He had a fractured back bone and therefore, couldn’t move his back legs losing his ability to even walk. Our neuro-orthopaedic specialists performed emergency surgery to decompress the spine and stabilise the vertebral column. After surgery and intensive physiotherapy, he is back to his usual cat antics and is running and jumping exactly as before.

Happy, a 2-year-old male Labrador, is really true to his name. In July 2017, he came to us in a less than happy state having suffered a road accident. He had a fracture in his back leg and was in immense pain. We were able to operate and fix a plate to stabilise the fracture. Within a few days, he was able to bear weight on the leg and soon enough, was back to being his bouncy self with no evidence of any problems in movement.
