Microchipping

Lost your pet when it ran off your lap at the party? Now, you can easily locate your pet using a microchip. A pet microchip is a radio-frequency identification transponder made up of just a few components encased within a slender capsule of bioglass. It is similar to the size of a rice grain. Its sole function is to store a unique ID number that is used to retrieve a pet parent’s contact information. When a microchip scanner is passed over the skin of a microchipped pet, the scanner reads the microchip’s unique ID code.

And others even provide tips on training and behavior, as well as advice on pet nutrition

Vaccination

Vaccines are extremely important for your pet. It is one of the easiest ways to help him live a long, healthy life. Not only are there different vaccines for different diseases, there are different types and combinations of vaccines. But it’s risks and benefits must be weighed carefully before deciding to do it. When the vaccine is introduced to the body, the immune system is mildly stimulated. If a pet is ever exposed to the real disease, his immune system is now prepared to recognize and fight it off entirely or reduce the severity of the illness.

These are of two types: core and non-core vaccines. Core vaccines are vital for the pet’s healthy life.

For Dogs: Vaccines for canine parvovirus, distemper, canine hepatitis and rabies are considered core vaccines.

For Cats: Vaccines for panleukopenia (feline distemper), feline calicivirus, felineherpesvirus type I (rhinotracheitis) and rabies are considered core vaccines
