How to care for your pet during the winter season.

Having a proper winter care routine for your pet is essential to keep them protected from the winter season.

Many dog owners believe that because their pets have fur, they can withstand cold temperatures better than humans.

But In December to February are brutally cold, not only for humans but also for our beloved pets.

Therefore, It is our responsibility to consider our pets’ safety and comfort during the winter months.

Here Are 6 pro tips given below to keep your pet healthy and safe this winter season!

1)    Maintain a warm & cosy space for them

Choosing the right bedding for your pet is very important to keep them warm and cosy. They may become ill if they are exposed to the cold floor for an extended period. Warm blankets can create a cosy environment; raised beds can keep your dog off cold tiles or concrete, and heated pet beds can help keep ageing joints from stiffening. Furthermore, put the bedding in a warm place.

2)    Keep your dog away from heaters.

During the winter season, dogs will frequently seek warmth by snuggling up too close to heating sources. Fireplaces can also be dangerous, so make sure you have a pet-proof system in place to keep your heat-seeking buddy safe! Let them be away from any room heaters, lamps, or other heating sources. If the pet gets too close to such radiators, they may get burned.

3)     Avoid Over Feeding!

Cold temperatures may even cause laziness and an eagerness for fewer calories. Make sure that your dog is not taking many calories at a  time.  A High-quality, whole-food-based diet, preferably raw meat-based, will help ensure a healthy coat and plenty of energy during the cold winter months.

4)     Go outside with them when the sun shines

While the weather is warmer, go outside and play with them; the sun will provide vitamin D to both you and your pet. Fetch with toys rather than sticks, which can cause choking and other injuries. Avoid early morning or late evening walks.

  • Keep your dog moisturized at all times.

Your pet’s skin can suffer as a result of dry and cold weather. Add a skin and coat supplement to her food to help prevent dry, flaky skin. Coconut oil is a natural moisturiser that can help keep your pet’s skin and coat in good condition. If your pet’s paws, ears, or tail are dry or cracked, apply coconut oil topically as needed.

  •  Cover your pet with woolens.

In pet stores, there are a plethora of sweaters and jackets for cats and dogs. Choose the appropriate size to keep them warm and comfortable while out for a run. If you have birds, rabbits, or other caged pets, simply wrap a shawl around their cage. This will keep the cage’s interior warm. Also, leave a small amount of space exposed to allow them to breathe.

We hope these tips will assist you in caring for your pet dog this winter. Have an astonishing winter with your dog!
